The Harfenmühle is a partner enterprise of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. As a partner enterprise, we fulfill fixed criteria – these include informing guests about the National Park, offering regional products, and considerate treatment of sensitive natural areas.

Electricity from the region and from your own roof
We source 100% of our electricity as green electricity "OIE Heimatliebe Strom Plus". In addition, we generate our own solar power with our photovoltaic system on the roof (88 kWp), and our own self-supply share is around 90%.

Heat from wood
We cover around 50% of our heating requirements with a firewood heating system – it heats the reception, Haus Hunsrück, the restaurant and the guest rooms. The wood comes from our own forest. The remaining 50% is covered by oil. We want to reduce this share further.

In our holiday accommodations, we source our bed linen and towels from the Kreuznacher Zentralwäscherei. By using this rental linen from Greif, we are supporting a drinking water treatment project in Uganda.
