At the Mörschieder Burr with a national park guide

Do you want to enjoy nature in a relaxed way while learning exciting things? We tried a guided hike directly from the Campingplatz Harfenmühle. The special thing: You don’t have to plan anything yourself, as a professional shows you the way.

Comprehensive service: Rent hiking shoes on site

A great advantage for all guests: You don’t need to bring your own equipment. At the Best of Wandern Testcenter directly on the campsite, we borrowed high-quality hiking shoes for free. This is easy and perfect for anyone who wants to join a guided tour spontaneously.

On the way in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park on the Saar-Hunsrück Trail

Safe on the road with the National Park Guide

The great advantage of this tour is the companionship. At 11:00 AM, we met directly at the campsite with our certified National Park guide.

With an expert by your side, hiking is much more relaxed:

  • No searching for the path: The guide knows every turn.

  • Safety: He knows exactly which paths are safe to walk.

  • First-hand knowledge: He told us funny and interesting stories about the forest.

The entry point was a steep forest road, but our guide ensured a comfortable pace for the whole group.

National Park guide Sascha explains the care zones of the national park with a map.

See the forest with expert eyes

Without our guide, we would have simply overlooked many details. He showed us:

  • Rare fungi and what they tell us about the forest.

  • The importance of deadwood for new plants.

  • How the national park develops without human assistance. You can immediately tell: Here, it’s not just about hiking; here, nature is discovered and understood together.

The highlights of the tour: Rocks and History

Under expert guidance, we reached two impressive locations:

  1. Mörschieder Burr: A wild rocky landscape with huge fields of stones (the Rosselhalden). Our guide explained to us exactly how these stones got there.

  2. The Wildenburg: An ancient Celtic site. From above, we had a wide view over the Hunsrück – a great moment for the whole group.

Directly at the Wildenburg are also the Wildlife Enclosure and the National Park Gate. There is even more to discover here.

National park guide Sascha explains the formation and habitat of wildlife at Rosselhalde.

Relaxed back to the campsite

After the tour, we didn't have to worry about anything. At 14:10, we used the Rufbus 899 together. This took us comfortably from the national park gate back to the starting point at the campsite.

Our conclusion: Hiking with a guide is worth it!

A guided tour is ideal for anyone who wants to experience nature without worrying about the route. You learn much more than on a hike alone. The tour is perfectly organized and ideal for couples, nature lovers, and families.

Our tip: Take advantage of the knowledge of the national park guides! Sign up directly at the campsite, rent the appropriate shoes at the test center, and enjoy a worry-free day in the woods.
