Did you know that the highest mountain in Rhineland-Palatinate is located right at our doorstep? The Erbeskopf is 816 meters high. We spent a family day there and tried out the hike “Peak Whispering”. It was a day full of views, nature, and action.

First Stop: The National Park Exhibition
Our adventure started at Hunsrückhaus. This is the large information center right at the national park gate. Before we set off on our hike, we looked at the exhibition "Primeval Forest of Tomorrow."
For Participation: There are stations where you can touch things.
Exciting: You can see films and models of animals from our forest. The children were immediately thrilled and wanted to know everything about nature.

Hiking on the Dream Path

Action on the Summer Toboggan Run
Once back down, the next adventure awaited: the summer toboggan run. It goes at breakneck speed down the mountain over more than 1,300 meters.
It's fun: You can brake or accelerate yourself.
Very convenient: A lift pulls you in the sled up the mountain, so you don't have to walk.
Note: The track only operates in dry weather. Children from 8 years old can ride alone; younger children ride with their parents.
